Information Assurance & Security Management Cyber Security Center

Cyber Security: Logo with Coyote Mascot

The Cyber Security Center focuses on developing Cyber Security capabilities to support business, government and academia. This interdisciplinary center brings together faculty from related disciplines with government and industry leaders for the purposes of research, curriculum development, training and awareness. Cyber Security skills are some of the most sought after employment skills in the nation.

One specific focus has been on developing student skills that meet the immediate needs of employers. Through our various partnerships we have created curriculum and programs that customize the skill set of our students. A graduate of our program may already have technical skills in Cisco, Linux, VMWare, Windows Servers, Oracle, SAP and ArcGIS. Aside from the technical skills, our students have a broad background focusing on project management, accounting, finance, economics, law, enterprise architecture, supply chain, computer forensics, ERP systems, business intelligence, asset tracking and more.

In recognition of the excellence of our innovative curriculum and academic program, Cal State University San Bernardino was designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance education. This honor was bestowed by the US Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. We are also home to the Cybercorps: Scholarship for Service and Department of Defense IASP/NDU Partnership program for those seeking government employment. CSUSB is also a leading member of Cyberwatch West, a National Science Foundation Advanced Technology Education Center, whose mission is to provide cyber security resources for the entire western United States.

Our Cyber Security program is available as a B.S. (Admin, Cyber Security concentration), M.B.A. or M.P.A. (Masters of Public Administration). In 2014, a new Cyber Security Option is available for Criminal Justice majors. A Cyber Security Certificate is available for Computer Science and National Security Studies students.
